In the UK we breed horses for racing/show jumping/work etc, on the continent they are also breed for their meat.
In the UK we breed guinea pigs for pets, in peru they are a staple food, a source of protein.
In the UK we have domesticated the dog, in China they are bred for food, a source of protien.

Just because we domesticate an animal, be it dog, horse, guinea pig and a plethora of other animals doesn't make what we do right when compared to countries that have domesticated animals to be pets or for the dinner plate.
It's very short sighted of you to think that you should be able to impose your will and your ideals onto cultures that have been using the said animals as a food source for thousands of years.
Isn't it about time that we concentrated on our own culture and its failings before worrying about other cultures and what we deem to be their failings!
