I agree with the thought that only paying for channels that you want will drive the price up. Everyone has different viewing tastes and while you may save on some, for the more niche channels, you'll end up paying more. I think that this would even be the case with say Discovery. I would pay but in terms of household numbers, there would be a substantial number who wouldn't.
All i can say is cable TV and sattelite is about to change big time. Liberty Global are very serious about VM being a success and their have been rumours about more areas getting cabled too.
