VM is very secretive about new channels and launch dates. Remember, they kept people guessing until the last minute with the BT Sport channels. There is no way MB would know about launch dates this far in advance, except in certain circumstances (eg when one of the major terrestrials announce a new channel starting and tell us they've done a deal with Virgin).

MB's list of coming soon channels has never had much on it beyond the next 30 days or so, and this included this year, when we have had our best year yet for new channels. This isn't MB's fault, by the way, it's just that VM seem to treat these developments as 'top secret'.
