yeah dude, although shub2 will fix your wi-fi problems there are still lots of other things you can't do. I would argue one of the best things you can do for youself (which all 3rd party routers will let you do) is change your dns servers so you don't have to use VM's. You might not know what they are or what they do but it doesnt matter, it is an easy thing to do and you'll be better off for it afterwards.

I echo the advice above in trying to get a shub2 for free otherwise I would go for this:
