Will it erode Virgin's base customers? I suspect some will go, though some are so anti-BT /love Virgin regardless that they will never switch (NEVER NEVER NEVER)

It's not the case of a love for Virgin, it's more the case of I'm not paying what I've been quoted as the same amount for a less than 20mb broadband service (with estimated speeds of less than 1.5mb). ADSL just cannot provide the speeds I need. Until Infinity is in my area, I won't consider them, and they have already said there is no plans. I also stick with virgin for the TV as Sky cannot offer a good price due to the amount of additional boxes we have, which when we tried to order Sky cancelled out any half price offers due to the offer not applying with that 3 additional boxes (plus the boxes being £10 extra each rather than £6.50)
BT are in it for the long run but apparently from July 2014 they will stop receiving it free regardless of what broadband package they are on, will people be willing to pay?
