Wasn't NASN/ESPN America a standalone channel for a time? I wonder why they don't offer it this way again as opposed to closing it?

You have a point there, actually a lot of people seem to buy a replacement TV for the sake of it within much shorter timescales than 6 years. There again I remember the days when people had a TV and kept it until it was no longer serviceable.
