They don't have to compensate as channels are added and removed all the time and they have pretty much said that the price won't change as a result of channels being added/removed.

However due to ESPN also being treated as a standalone premium offering there is a perceived value of £10. The most fair offering would be a £5pm charge for XL customers for BT & ESPN in HD.

I expect it to be excluded from XL but charged at a discounted £8 to £10 pm for XL customers and maybe free for first month.

We will know soon enough.
