But it is. You're talking about a story about child abuse amongst a certain set of public figures and another case where a guy seeks out child abusers. In these realms you'll find little else. If I walked into a prison I would be surrounded by convicts, it wouldn't mean there are any more convicts that I would have otherwise expected. This is a very biased sample you're viewing.

Eh? It doesn't surprise me. I don't think I said anywhere that child abuse doesn't happen.
I am saying that the numbers will appear to be shocking if you're surrounded by stories of such abuses. Following someone on Facebook who seeks them out is such an example of this. Any one incident is shocking but I am not sure this is any bigger a problem than it always has been, if anything we started taking the issue more seriously now which is a good thing. A slate needs to be cleaned. People who got away with it are now being brought to justice.
