ATM, with a separate modem, there are a couple of options for using your own router. With an all-in-one device, if no modem mode is included, you will at least be able to configure it to allow your own modem to piggy-back to the sky hub's DMZ.

However it has been rumoured, since sky's assimilation of Be/O2 subs, that sky are taking steps to make it easy for anyone to be able to connect using their own modem and were even training their support staff to be able to cope with router queries other that those regarding the sky hub.

Of course there is always an outside chance that the new sky hub will be so powerful and feature rich that you won't feel the need to run your own
