For some people, BT sports is essential and if VM don't get it, they will need to switch providers. And that is something that can't be done in a few days. If VM take it right up to the wire to announce whether not they are getting BT sports, it doesn't give people time to switch before the start of the games.
Spot on but it's not just that. All that ESPN provided is going, if Virgin do manage to get a deal with BT Sports we will have to pay for what ESPN previously provided. ESPN price is already subsumed into the XL price so we are out of pocket even without factoring BT's arrival/non arrival. It's like Sky Movies Comedy, Thriller and Family being taken out of the Virgin movie package and only being on Sky, you just wouldn't accept paying the same price. A huge chunk of sport is being taken away. No way should we have to pay the same price on XL come the end of this month
