I too thought that the Sky basics were covered for 9 years from when VM sold their channels to Sky.
Maybe there was a clause to review the situation at the end of this month, with a guarantee that the existing channels will still be available for a total of 9 years??

It's no longer a deal breaker or maker for consumers, so it would just seem very petty if Sky were to withhold the HD version. Who's to say that VM might insist that the HD version is included otherwise no deal will be struck at all. I'm sure even Sky with all their profits won't want to lose customers via other carriers.

Maybe that's the sticking point that's preventing a contract being signed? Ie we will get it, but VM are holding out for the HD channel for us too?

Every publican I have spoken to has said that they won't be taking BT Sport if it costs extra on Sky (they won't be allowed to show it from the VM feed).
