UKTV has joined forces with subscription TV platform YouView to launch a catch-up service. Subscribers will be able to access content from Dave, Yesterday and Really on-demand through their set-top boxes. The move marks the first time UKTV has operated a catch-up service that is purpose-built for television hardware.

"The UKTV network currently reaches over 42 million viewers a month and this agreement with YouView will make our award-winning programmes and channel brands available to even more viewers," said UKTV CEO Darren Childs. Earlier today, YouView launched its companion app for Android devices, allowing users to record shows and view listings on the move. Dave content will be available through YouView from next month, with Yesterday and Really programming to be added before the end of the year.

Virgin used to be the number 1 provider of catch up TV in the UK but have been overtaken by SKY and now YouView, in terms of channels covered bt their catch up service.
