The newest Sony update is leaving the consoles effectively dead. It's a tad early to say it's bricking the consoles but I can't see how it can be reversed or patched if people can't boot the system properly and have no access to a USB fix or any other downloadable fix so people are already looking at warranties for 'bricked' devices, Sony could be looking at a huge recall here.

Edit: Sony have pulled the firmware update to stop the spread apparently, anyone available to confirm this?
