But there's nothing official to confirm the role of these so-called dedicated servers, just a generous helping of speculation and conjecture extolling the virtues of the cloud. A dedicated server could be providing the ability to do something as simple as saving a game state. I would stake a generous amount of cash on the majority of the meaningful, latency sensitive data running over p2p channels.

Don't get me wrong, the xbox live user experience as it stands is vastly superior to PSN but this talk of 300,000 servers and all of the cloud buzz-words don't really wash in terms of what will pan-out in the real world.
