I agree a capped VM 30mg connection will be faster than most SKY broadband connections, but it won't be faster than them all. At almost double the price of SKY's unlimited broadband, Virgins 30mb connection should be faster than every SKY broadband customers connection at all times.

Personally I'd rather pay £7.50 per month getting 15.5mb on an up to 18mb connection ahead of £14.50 per month for a 30mb connection and only getting 18mb once restrictions kick in.

The fact I'm getting my current broadband for just £3.75 with no limits, no shaping, no peer 2 peer speed reduction, no letters trying to tell me when to download, no need to install download monitoring software and no confusing usage policy appeals to me much more than a fluctuating connection costing me 4 times as much.

I do agree however that someone downloading for 24 hours on a Virgin 30mb connection will be able to download a fair bit more than I can over 24 hours on my 15.5mb connection.

Out of curiosty, by how much do Virgin throttle peer 2 peer and bit torrent? Is it 30% and it is only during peak times?
