If you know anybody in your street who has a Superhub, see what performance they get in relation to their up to speed. If it's poor, you're better of staying on your old tariff - if VM will let you. Then, the later you leave it to upgrade, the more likely it will be that you receive a SH2 rather than that wretched SH1.
BTW, both SHs run best in modem mode with a separate router attached.

Come to that conclusion myself. I'm sticking with my NTL250 which gives a rock solid 20MB and has become more reliable than ever. A mate across town struggles to get 10MB with his Superdud.
