Agreed, I've used one. It is indeed very simple to use. As is the V+, Sky+ et al. So being simple to use doesn't differentiate it.
Your description of it being 'free' on XL is inaccurate. Firstly the charge is hidden in a collection, secondly VM charge unnecessary installation charges (under various names) for the box, thirdly, if you're on a loyalty discount, they'll add the charge.
However, I understand that TiVo has features of interest to some people, just none to me or I suspect, many others. If it were a genuinely free replacement for my V+ I'd turn all the nonsense off and use it, but as it isn't, I won't.
By the way, before anyone tries to go down the technophobe path (someone usually does when I express my opinion on TiVo) I'm an early adopter who loses a fortune by always having to have the latest gizmo that does something better. TiVo
