The thing is the infrastructure is almost already in place. Everyone has the availability to purchase a freeview box and VM, BT and sky etc supply set top boxes on a subscription base all that needs to happen is that sky make SSF1 SD a free to air channel and keep the HD version as subscription only then the problem is solved. Doing this saves all the extra expense of having to supply every household with a dedicated SSF1 box.
