Is that really SKY's fault?
You’d have thought the people running the various terrestrial TV channels would have learned their lesson by now. Why they let their broadcast deals expire, for their most popular imported shows, seems crazy to me. Terrestrial channels can easily stave off SKY by agreeing longer broadcast deals for shows at the outset or proposing an extended deal way in advance of their current deal expiring. They could at the very least ask for a first refusal clause to be added to their initial deal. If they take ownership of the problem they needn’t worry about SKY.
