Problems with possible app

My dad has an HTC Desire S, a red star keeps appearing in the menu, I ran airpush detector, but nothing showed.

I clicked on it and it opened a text message prompting me to send a text Message "LUCKY" to 88222.

A cancelled and did a search and found out that this is one of those £1.50 to send/receive.

I cannot find how this appeared on the phone or how to stop it. My dad is now trying to find his account details to check his account for T-mobile.

Any ideas on how to block this from sending or receiving from them?
