People want to see society via the prism of football. Remember the racism scandals last year? They're relatively tame in the grand scheme of things, meriting punishment but not the outrage that papers had at the time. Same here. People look to football to 'set an example' when it's clearly not suited to the task. It's populated with a lot of morons and most of them are in the stands.
