I would imagine that this is a fraudulent activity or just pure theft. Are you comfortable with this?

Just as people are beginning to become aware that they cannot commit defamation over the internet without consequences, I am sure the law will sooner or later catch up with those who watch stuff illegally (in fact a start on this has already been made for the higher profile abuses). Better watch out, this 'laissez faire' approach to content piracy will not last.
I was trying to find the link, but can't. Someone who runs a Netflix related site, checked with Netflix about using a service such as Unblockus, which is a form of VPN, and Netflix have no problem with it.

I pay for both Netflix and the Unblockus service and never download pirated copies of any film or TV show, whether free or not.

Whether a service such as unblockus is breaking any laws is sometimes debated on forums, with no conclusive answer. So I think of it as a grey area, but one that I feel comfortable living with.

If the whole content distribution system was reformed, then non of this would be necessary. As, as I said, I will not download pirated content from file sharing sites, but it is useful to note that it was the illegal file sharing activity that eventually forced the music industry to set up legal forms of streaming with fewer territorial content barriers. The film industry really should have taken note of that.

And with regard to separate Netflix devices apart from Tivo, A laptop can easily be hooked up to the TV, many new TVs and Blueray players have Netflix apps, and you can get a streaming device, which is very small and neat from around £50.
