That sounds interesting, would that survive mains pressure water though, and would the resulting water be drinkable?
As stated by Tiz, it can all be sterilised beforehand. I first used this fix outdoors via a mains supply about 4 years ago and none of the repairs/joins are leaking despite the extremes of temperature they've been subjected to outside. The waterproof superglue I use for such things is called Fixsal and it's excellent stuff. To join a section of pipe securely, I tend insert an inner tube a least 2-3 inches long so there's plenty of surface for the glue to adhere to. It forms a very strong joint.
