I would imagine Sky value its deal for shows on a total viewership over the life of the deal , the BARB figures only represent live viewing plus 7 day time shifted viewing , Sky now regularly put their content on its OD service as full boxsets they also tend to run the previous series a few weeks before the new series airs , Game of thrones series one also picked VM viewers up when it aired on Sky One and further down the line shows can air on Pick TV as an example the Orignal Stike Back series aired on Pick TV.
