Gmail and Google Apps are separate products. Issues can arise with Google Apps based services that don't effect Gmail, however the technical support of Google Apps does reside with Google. When customer issues are identified that are outside of VM's systems then VM will raise with Google, and it's down to Google to identify the fixes
