But every USP has a limited shelf life. Surely Sky realise that? There must come a point when they've flogged a dead donkey (albeit a lively appealing one!) to those sitting on the fence.

If I were Sky, I would draw a line under it and be happy to have used Atlantic to draw in many new customers and and bring some over from other providers. Now it's time to get the channel out to as many people as possible, to gain additional advertising revenue and carriage costs.

Holding on to HD variations as exclusives might still be appealing enough for some to think about joining or moving.
