Re: Bullied Schoolboy Aged 9 Hangs Himself

I was bullied at school for a long time. It was just little stupid things. This one guy would take my school bag off me and throw it in gardens, on shop roofs or in the middle of the main roads. He would stand in dog dirt then rub it down my trouser leg. He was fairly popular and made sure nobody would walk home with me. To be honst I was only physically attacked a few times, most of it was mental abuse.

When I eventually told my mum she told me next time he tries anything just punch him as hard as I can in the face. The next day he tried to take my coat so I punched him in the mouth. It knocked out one of his teeth and burst his lip. I ran away fairly swiftly but remember hearing him cry. After that he left me alone. I remember all of a sudden kids at school who never spoke to me before become my pals.

Sadly it all comes down to proof. Unless the accusations can be proven, the teachers can do nothing. You'll find most bullies are part of a group, or are often seen as the "cool kid". Other kids who witness the bullying tend to side with the bully. Sad but true.
