But with XP losing a batch of its channels to M+, it does need beefing up a little with something new. There's still probably a significant number of XP users without HD.

I think Virgin are moving channels to new packages (And soon to move channels to new channel numbers) to make way for the following channels to appear:
Disney Cinemagic HD (Was listed on Virgin Media.com today)
More4 HD (Well More4 +1 has launched this week)
Universal HD
E! HD
Style Network
And I think Virgin may sign an deal with the following broadcasters in 2013:
