Well, presuming and hoping that the reports are true then it seems both sides backed down. Instead of £100,000 its been suggested that Theo's deal is £90,000 including various bonuses which is still higher than the £75,000 that Arsenal said was their final offer. I think Walcott got the better end of the deal but not to a degree that would have made it difficult for Arsenal to accept. Arsenal were probably moved to compromise to avoid the continued sense of players leaving whilst Walcott probably thinks it's the best club for him.
Still let's not count chickens before they're hatched. Nothing is certain yet. Who knows why this information has been leaked, could be someone trying to apply pressure somewhere.
