hi thanks for your reply.
I'm actually not running a web server. i just wanted to keep my example as simple as possible.
the app i use doesnt allow me to choose its listening port. so i'm resigned to allowing it through on its default port and restricting access based on IP (a drag) or buying a "proper" router which allows PAT. Most do.
Trouble is i have to keep the Shub as it contains the modem so i'm adding a layer of complexity i dont (or shouldnt) need.
