If you genuinely believe that quoting figures incorrectly, especially by changing bits to bytes without any indication other than an order of magnitude change, expecting readers to 'infer' when they wouldn't need to if you were clear and unambiguous and that by getting it deliberately wrong you are 'helping', then so be it.

Personally I find it makes you appear very patronising and innacurate but clearly I'm in the minority.

If you posted using correct units, especially acknowledging the difference between bits and bytes (pretty fundamental eh?) and then addressed any 'confusion' that results (hint - I don't think there is any) then everyone learns from it rather than perpetuating the myth that 'accuracy doesn't matter as everyone will understand anyway'.

Neither you or qasdfghjklkjgfdsaq have actually argued that I'm wrong by the way, just that you accept that you're wrong but people won't care. A pretty strange state of affairs I think you'd agree?

Still, my position is clear and so is yours so there's nothing to be gained by carrying this discussion on any further.
