Yesterday Virgin Media launched a new service (Multi Room Streaming) which allows the programmes that have been recorded on one set-top box to be watched within the same house via another set-top box on my home network.

At present none of the programmes broadcast by yourselves that I have recorded are permitted to be viewed, these restrictions are imposed on Virgin Media by the content providers (yourselves) can you let me know whether you have any intention to allow this in the near future?

Dear Sir/Madam

Further to your enquiry, our Rights team has confirmed that they are in contact with Virgin regarding the issue you recently raised. I’m afraid that they’re unable to give a timescale of when the discussions may conclude, however. Please note that due to Rights issues it is likely that some programmes may have to carry restrictions.

I’m sorry that I’m unable to provide further information at this stage but would like to thank you, once again, for taking the trouble to contact ITV.
