To watch the vhd the tv should be Set to hdmi. To set a recording or watch dvds put tv to scart, your recorder should be on av2 ready to record.

Just a quick query, if I may - does the above solution allow me to watch TV while recording or to watch programmes saved to the DVD hard drive while recording another? The Samsung did, but I'm slightly concerned by possible limitations of having to switch to HDMI for TV and then to Scart for DVD recorder...
