Trading Leather gave trainer Jim Bolger a double on Future Champions Day with a gutsy display in the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket.

Kevin Manning settled in second and attempted to get first run on the other big guns, but it took him a long time to get past Glory Awaits, and in the meantime Richard Hughes looked ever so confident on Montiridge, even taking a pull before narrowly hitting the front inside the final furlong.

But Trading Leather showed great determination to battle back and won going away by three-quarters of a length from his fellow 5-2 joint-favourite, with Eye Of The Storm third.

DEADLY AAIM RECLAIMS CESAREWITCH

Aaim To Prosper created history by becoming the first horse to win the Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket for a second time.

The Brian Meehan-trained eight-year-old (66-1) has not been victorious since he struck in this race in 2010, but cashed in courtesy of a never-say-die ride by Kieren Fallon.

The favourite Countrywide Flame looked like collaring Aaim To Prosper, but Meehan's charge was not for passing and held on by half a length. Tominator, having his first start for Jonjo O'Neill, also briefly threatened, but crossed the line in third, with Sir Mark Prescott's Motivado fourth.

Aaim To Prosper drifted off the rail into the path of Countrywide Flame, but the runner-up was not making any ground at the line.

JUDGE RULES SUPREME IN ROCKFEL

Trainer Charlie Hills has a genuine Classic contender on his hands after Just The Judge maintained her unbeaten record in the Vision.ae Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket.

Winner of the Washington Singer at Newbury last time out, she was in the perfect position throughout under Michael Hills, and quickened up nicely.

Nargys met plenty of trouble in behind and when Kieren Fallon eventually extricated her from a pocket, she fairly flew home. But it was all too late as Just The Judge (6-1) had flown, and she crossed the line a length and three-quarters in front of Nargys, with Godolphin's Desert Blossom in third.
