Yes, IMO it's worth it (unless you *need* the features of Google Maps that Apple Maps doesn't have).
Siri is vastly improved, and could actually be considered very useful now, instead of just a gimmick as it was when first released on the iPhone 4S.
Safari & Mail have been improved, and the Facebook integration is handy if you like that sort of thing.
One other thing to consider, as well as the Maps, is that iOS 6 does not contain the YouTube app present in all previous versions of iOS.
That is not such an issue for the iPhone, as Google has already released a separate YouTube app... one that is vastly superior to the now-removed in-built app.
But the iPad version is not ready yet, so if you want to use YouTube on the iPad you'll need to use the website instead. Still, using YouTube via the browser is generally a hell of a lot better than the crappy old Apple-controlled YouTube app anyway.
My wife relies on Google Maps a lot, so is holding off on iOS 6 for now on her iPhone and iPad. Me? I'm not fussed about it. I agree that Apple Maps is inferior to Google Maps, but it's not a deal-breaker for me.
