He did indeed, missed that point completely

. My other thought was picture processing but again that goes out the window with the audio delayed already....
There was an issue with Tivo outputting the audio and video such that the audio was delayed and no amount of tinkering with your amp would fix this, it would obviously only make it worse. This used to drive me crazy but i haven't noticed the issue in quite a while, could it be this? Do you have the same issue with the Tivo connected directly to your TV for both audio and video?
