Actually he may have a point..and there is more to it than you imagine.
It seems that because he competed in the Olympics he cannot just change his own blades for longer ones unless he is prepared to get re authorised to do so,a very long process involving his sports body etc.
In the mean time his rival is free to change the length of his blades without such a rigmarole..giving him a much longer stride to everyone else in the race it would seem..
At least he has apologised for the timing but I suspect that if he had just quietly had a word with the PTB it would have just been brushed under a carpet.
