@anybodyelse Is this really right then. I've got 80% full box, half tb. It's all KUID. I've just series linked all the Football matches on Sky Sports HD and ESPN HD, again all KUID, there's nine matches lined up in My Planned Recordings along with a host of other stuff. All those football matches are way over 20% in my past experience. There's nothing in Recording hiccups to say it won't record because there's no space. There's nothing being deleted, so I'm thinking that as long as there is space when each recording is due, it'll record. And that's what I did all the way through last season.

But the last few pages seem to be suggesting that TiVo won't do this. I'm confused by that. I don't know what to believe as I trust what some people say on here (not you Carl) and it just seems different to my user experience.
Not sure why you're not seeing things not about to record if it really would fill up the last 20%. I have everything KUID and when we went away for 3 weeks I came back to it 95% full and only about a week more of recordings in my planned recordings when it should have been 2 weeks at least. It wouldn't set any further recordings as there wasn't enough space. I had a marathon 2 days of catching up on a lot of the stuff recorded while away (and deleting stuff from before that I knew I wasn't likely to watch - or set to re-record later like movies I knew would come round again) it then set those programmes to record for the next two weeks.

So I can confirm from my own personal experience that what they are saying is correct, that if everything is KUID then if your drive gets full enough it will stop setting upcoming programmes if there isn't enough room to record them.

Since then I do my best to keep it around the 50% mark if I can. I have a few series that I've recorded all the seasons of (in SD) as they were ones I was interested in but never got round to watching. That's the truly awesome thing about TiVo - that it gives me the space to do that.

Now that I've been able to change the padding 0/0 for express recording I will do that, but i'll have to remind myself to pop back in later and set the recording to KUID. I have to do that anyway as hubby never remembers so I'm always saving his recording from being bumped. Aren't I good to him LOL.

A major plus I've discovered (and I think was referenced earlier in the thread) scrolling through alphabetical On Demand is now MUCH faster. used to press channel down and waaaaaaiittttttt. now it's almost (not quite) immediate to the next page. So that's a big plus. Haven't played too much in the other menus.

Overall I think it's a postiive update, just a couple of things that seem a bit odd (like the KUID issue)
