Ive got a Draytek 2920n router
I've herd about lots of problems with the super hubs thats why i chose to purchase my own router
i was previously on an adsl connection but to be quite frank the bt connection was well past its sell by date and my line (through a bt connection) according to open reach could only take 4mb dispite being less than 3km from the exchange but i never saw those speeds max speed i would get was around 2.30mb i had static ip addresses with my pervious isp which made it possible to run servers with no prob
but through virgin's network (NYNEX) i get near enough the speeds that are advertised which is all good

do you think i would be able to have a similar setup to yours have the business super hub connected directly into wan1 on the draytek router but on the super hub change the ip address and subnet to a different range I'm not sure how the routing would work though for the static ip addresses (draytek routed ip subnet option)

Even though it doesn't have a modem mode you should still be able to use it with a seperate router as Rob mentions above.

ahh right would that work with a static ip address though ? meaning having a server directly connected to the draytek router but the server has a static ip address
as rob's is a dynamic ip address

i will try and simplify this a bit
Virgin Media Business Super Hub 5 static ip addresses directly connected into wan1 on the draytek router
server directly connected into one of the lan ports on the draytek router
how would i configure the routed subnet on the draytek router so that the server gets a public static ip address
also would the draytek router have its own public static ip address ?
and which router would provide the firewall security the super hub or the draytek router ?
