It is defo an official VM quote before you want to start doing damage control. I can't remember exactly where it came from but it was something like a Q&A section on the speed doubling page a few months ago.
And just for the record, I absolutely hate hipocracy. It is absolutely appalling that VM claim to have tested the VMNG300 (hence my sarcastic comment) and tell everyone it doesn't work when it is convenient for them to do so and now retract it. It either does work or it doesn't, it isnt dependant on what mood they are in.
I would appreciate it if you gave the powers that be the feedback Nopanic because stuff like this really pee's me off. I am that passionate about it that I a now going to waste my time and fine the thread with the link to the VM page for you

READ IT AND WEEP:
If I current use a VMNG300 will I need to switch to using a Super Hub?
We've tested the VMNG300 and it can only support a speed of approximately 92Mb on our network so if you want to get your full speed upgrade you'll need a Super Hub which we'll send to you free of charge. We know that some of you might be concerned about the Super Hub's performance but the last firmware upgrade at the end of 2011 made some significant improvements in performance and reliability alongside introducing modem mode.
