your gateway is the ip address your pc sends the traffic to if it resides on a different subnet to your lan (i.e. a router). For most routers it is going to be 192.168.1.1 or in the case of the shub it is 192.168.0.1. The address is obviously configurable so if you are on a device and you dont know what the address of the router is click on start, run type cmd in to pull up a command prompt. Type "ip config" and hit enter and it will tell you what your default gateway is along with other stuff.
