Latency using VMs own speed test, (We had access during the trial), was never higher than 5s. Jitter was always 0. This is no surprise. We were on a dedicated connection, taken from spare capacity in the city, and connected straight through to a trial head end. The pipe shared by trialists was 1Gb with 10Gb available if required. Interestingly, my IP address located me in Sheffield even though the trial was in Coventry.

Tests conducted on speedtest.net were of no use. Servers did not have the capacity to measure over 200Mb consistently.

You have to remember that this was a 'proof of concept' trial, establishing that speeds of 200Mb and then approaching 400Mb, in my case, was possible on domestic connections using ordinary user kit. Needless to say those of us with Gb switches and cards, decent processors and routers with high throughput had the best results.
