Can Orange Brightbox be used as wireless access point with Superhub?
I switched to Virgin from Orange and have the Virgin Superhub. I get 30mbps downstairs but wireless signal is patchy upstairs in certain rooms and so the speed drops to 1mbps. I'm aware the Virgin Hub isn't great for its wireless signal so I've decided to try and use my old Orange Brighbox ADSL wireless router as a wireless access point.
I've trawled through the forums and google but can't get this set up working. I know how to turn the Virgin Hub into modem only mode and have connected the laptop and Brightbox router via ethernet LAN, changed the IP address to outside of the DHCP range of Shub and disabled DHCP on Brightbox router. But when I connect the Superhub and Brightbox routers via Ethernet (NOT on WAN port) I don't get any internet?
Am I doing something wrong? Can the Orange Brighbox be used as the wireless access point given its an ADSL router?? I read somewhere I needed to leave the Superhub in normal mode (ie not modem only mode) but that hasn't worked either. What are my options?
Thanks for any advice
