I think there are VM staffers on installs and also contractors. One of the VM blokes here may spill the beans if their non-disclosure doesn't prevent it.
Where VM could end up in trouble is if one on the underrated PSUs catches fire - you said yours was running very hot - if that caused a house fire and the cause was pinpointed.....

There a few other things going on that I see day to day that so far haven't been mentioned, or noticed yet, a lot of virgin techs are untrained and feckless
