Are you sure you have the correct PSU - the Superhub one is 12v 1.5A and a frequent complaint used to be that installers had just swapped out a modem for a hub and left the old 10v 1.0A modem PSU to run it.

Rebboting might clear memory problems caused by firmware bugs but wouldn't give enough respite to let anything cool down much.
