Ariel cable for satellite connection

Hi,
I have moved into a new flat that has a communal ariel and satellite dish. The living room has 3 outlets, the main one includes connections for: Sat 1; Sat 2; TV; Return. The two remote outlets are for TV only.

The TV is at the opposite side of the room from the main socket, and to get a signal, a coax cable is connected between the 'TV' and 'Return' sockets in the main outlet, and another from a remote socket to the TV.

I thought I would get a satellite signal on my FREESAT TV with a similar setup, but using the 'Sat1' socket on the main outlet and the satellite connection on the TV - I don't

As expected, I do get a signal if I connect the 'Sat1' socket direct to the TV satellite connection with a long coax cable so why does it not work via the wall connections Please?

Regards,
