Rupert Murdoch’s News International came under more pressure last night to find and hand over to police a lost iPhone.

The company said it had found three of the four Apple smartphones issued to former executive chairman James Murdoch and three other executives.

It comes after the Sunday Mirror revealed the existence of the phones and concerns they could contain texts and emails of interest to the police probe into phone hacking.

NI’s confirmation at the High Court it had found three of the iPhones triggered calls last night for it to track down the fourth phone as a “matter of urgency”.
