Maybe. I don't know and it's probably pointless speculating. It was certainly on the features wish list the VM community board asked people to raise way back in the days of the earlier firmware fixes. I think all that that round of changes produced was a few bug fixes and no additional features. They did bow to pressure for a modem mode later. R36 appears to be a bug fix only release.

IMO so long as modem mode works properly then people have the option to buy their own router with the features they want.
