Also, I know you rarely take the advice I give you but at the moment (and I stress at the moment) the iPhone 4(and above) is a more accessible phone for those with a visual impairment.

ICS is very nearly there now but not quite, Still as the android versions improve I'm sure the accessibility will too.

But it's worth noting this while choosing your next phone.
