Is it a gimmick, or is it a really important way of opening up certain things to a new audience. Before I read Jodash's post I'd have said the latter. If you're watching a sport you don't enjoy because of the format it's displayed in then I'm no longer sure.

Think the gimmick aspect is when you first get 3D then you may be tempted to watch anything just because its 3D but that soon wears of,unless you bought a 3D tv when you didnt need a new one then that particular part of the tvs ability may have only added £100 to what you would have spent any way so to me its a use it when i think it will add to my enjoyment,which isnt that often on virgin L package,after saying that certain films i would watch in 3D conversion its not 3D but it adds a bit of depth
